Aixois is a beautiful & charming restaurant. A wonderful spot for morning coffee with a pastry or warmed egg quiche, or order full breakfast from their menu. You will no spot more delightful for a cool summer morning - sitting outside with table & chairs on a shady walkway, or table & chairs inside. The wait staff is great. The coffee is great, and dressed up however you like it. No better way to start the day.

I enjoyed this spot for a French ambiance. Really tasteful and elegant both inside and out. The service was really friendly. Give 5 stars for both of those. 3.5 stars for food. It was well cooked and nicely presented. I felt it lacked a bit of flavor and the smoked salmon on my brunch entree was not the best piece of salmon. The chocolate croissant wasn't as flaky as I was hoping for, but would try a different bakery item in future. I would come here on a nice day for a cappuccino, and opt for different items to give it another try based on good location, service and ambiance.

This is my daughter's restaurant of choice for her Birthday. Ambiance is casual to fancy casual (as we call it). Service is very casual but we attribute that to the European vibe. We have only eaten on patio which is nice, especially when the weather is mild. The two times we have eaten here the food has been great. The French onion soup is wonderful. This year the family had two of the dinner specials and two of the regular dinner menu items. I had the Swordfish (dinner special) that came with a mango salsa, rice pilaf and greens. My husband had the Skirt steak (dinner special) with chimichurri, garlic mashed potatoes and greens. My son had the Duck leg confit DeCanard (reg. Menu) with a veal demiglace, garlic mash and a vegetable. My daughter had the Onglet grillé Au poivre (regular menu) grilled skirt steak with peppercorn sauce, salad and pommes frites. Everything was delightful as always.

Ambiance: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Food: 7/10 This is one of the loveliest restaurants in Kansas City. The patio and interior are beautiful. I liked everything about the relaxed feel of this restaurant. It is perfect for an intimate dinner date or a get-together with friends. The service was great as well! Our server was attentive and friendly, and we never had to wait for a drink refill. I really wanted to love this place, but the food was a bit of a letdown. The meal started off strong with the tasty French baguette and butter. However, I would say some of the food lacked seasoning. While my french onion soup looked amazing, it tasted a little bland. The mussels were just ok. The steak was pretty tasty and well-seasoned. The fries were delicious. I really wanted to try the dessert, but we were too full by the end of the meal to order dessert. I would like to come back here just for drinks and dessert, to enjoy the ambiance again.

Location: crestwood. Kansas City Ambiance: nice place, family oriented. Potentially to take a date. Food: Went for the restaurant week. Overall the food was ok. Nothing extraordinary. Lentils soup was blunt. Crepes were outstanding Service: pretty good. They also have a bakery.

We visited Aixois for KC Restaurant Week and it did not disappoint. It had been some time since I had been to Aixois and while it is a bit of a haul from my home, it was well worth the trip! They have a great little coffee bar/take out bakery case just inside the front door of the restaurant. While I did not partake in anything from that area, I could see it being a cozy space to pop in for morning coffee and pastries. The restaurant is quaint and cozy and while it was busy, it did not give off any hectic vibes at all. Our service was great -- attentive and friendly without being overbearing and our server made great recommendations for ordering off the Restaurant Week menu. We all decided on the quiche and agreed that it was fabulous! The crust was flaky and yummy and the filling was creamy and delicious. We all ate every bite - even my mom who always wants to take half of her meal home! For dessert, we had the Profiteroles and the French Apple Tarte - both were delicious and a great way to end the meal.
